Mother & daughter publish inspiring children’s book to tell their story
A heartwarming story reveals many ways of creating a family

CINCINNATI, OH, [December 20, 2019] – Kathy Quarles and her 5-year-old daughter, Ava, spend every night curled up in bed reading stories. Ava is an extraordinary girl with a rare chromosome disorder, Turner Syndrome. Ava’s favorite past time is reading books and pretending she is the leading character.

In this touching story, Ava’s wish has been granted as she is the true inspiration! “Ava’s journey to having a family one day will be different than what is often considered ‘typical’. I wanted her to know that there is more than one narrative on becoming a parent, and that each person will have a different experience and story,” says Kathy.

This book brings to light the many varying and beautiful ways of creating a family. In a series of heartfelt moments between mother and daughter, they imagine the different paths to having a family that the daughter’s life may take. It’s a story hardly ever told, but very often experienced. “I wanted to capture concepts such as pregnancy, adoption, and surrogacy in language that a child would understand,” Kathy explains, “so I modeled the story on real moments that Ava and I shared.”

Beautifully illustrated, professionally edited and published by For Good Media, this book provides many wonderful moments of hope, bravery and unyielding love to share. Book to be released early January.
